A loan of $450 helped to purchase five carcasses of lamb.

Lourdes's story

Lourdes is a member of the communal bank “Santa Rosa de San José”, located in the Mañazo district in the province and department of Puno. She is 28 years old, lives with her partner and has one child. She has attended university.
Her first loan was for 500 New Soles, money which she invested in her business of buying and selling lamb meat. She has been with the Manuela Ramos movement through three cycles.
With this new loan of 1200 New Soles she will buy five lamb carcasses. She buys them at the local markets and she sells to stores. Her father in law and brother in law help her in the business. Her husband works in the mine at Cusco.
Her dream is to grow her business and have her own meat store this way improving her income.
What she likes about the communal bank is the ease and punctuality of the loans.
