Lélo Group's story

This group is composed of eight women who share strong bonds of solidarity and help one another. They live in the same village and seized the opportunity to become members of a banc villageois once it was established in their village in February 2000. Their main business is small trade.

Madam Mame, standing at the far right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group representative. She is 49 years old, married, and the mother of ten children, two of whom are girls. All of her children have attended school. She sells peanut paste, dried fish and nététou (a condiment made from néré nuts). She has cumulated a strong experience in this business since she has been doing it for more than a decade.

With this new loan, she would buy 120 kg of peanut paste, 100 kg of dried fish, and 40 kg of nététou.

The profits generated by her business will allow her to substantially support her husband in providing for her family's needs and to develop her business.

In this group: Ndeye, Yakhara, Mame, Fatou Modou, Khady, Bineta, Yakhara, Bouba
