Birkama Group's story
Created in December 2011, this group is composed of members living in the same village and sharing strong social bonds.
Mme Rocky, with her hand raised in the photo, is a widow and mother of seven children, one of whom is still dependent on her. Sixty-one years old, Mme Rocky is the group's representative and is active in market gardening. With her loan, she plans to buy goods at the weekly markets. She also wants to expand her gardening activities to increase her profits.
With her earnings, she plans to strengthen her savings and also pay for the education of her younger children, while providing for the family's basic needs.
