Ms. Fatou is a merchant by trade. She is active in selling bedsheets, palm oil, footwear, and ready-to-wear clothing. She is 44, married, and the mother of four children, including two daughters. And she has five others to support.
With this new loan, she intends to buy new articles of clothing at the market to resell in her town. The earnings will be used to bolster her savings, cover her children's school fees, and buy what is needed for the family.
