Wassa Group's story

Abdou, 40 years old, is the head of his household, married, and a father of eleven children, four of whom attend school. He lives in a rural area of Mali, characterized by precarious living conditions. The children in the household are aged between 1 and 15.

To improve the economic stability of his household, Abdou received RMCR funding to expand his sheep breeding and fattening business, which he has been running continuously for over a decade. This financing has enabled him to increase the number of rams in his herd. He buys his livestock at local and neighboring markets, where he also sells his animals, thereby contributing to the development of local economic exchange.

The income generated by this activity is estimated at a monthly profit of between 35,000 and 60,000 CFA francs, helping to cover essential household expenses, including school fees, healthcare, and clothing.

The financial support provided by the RMCR enables Abdou to make his purchases without resorting to supplier credit, improve the health monitoring of his livestock, and limit losses due to animal diseases. In addition, by-products from livestock farming are reused as organic fertilizer for his crops, reinforcing the sustainable and integrated management of his agricultural activities.
