Esther's story
Esther is age 57, married, and has no minor children. She supports a family of three members. She has done a crop and dairy farming business for the past 20 years, earning a monthly income of KES 40,000.
She is borrowing a loan of KES 100,000, and she will use it to purchase fertilizer, seeds, and other farm inputs. She will use the anticipated profit to expand her business to be able to meet market demand.
