Cité Senghor 2 Group's story

The village council was created in May 2009 and is made up of brave women who are active in trade. They live in the same neighbourhood and surrounding areas and support each other.

Mrs Fatou is a 63-year-old married woman and mother of six children, including one boy. She is involved in processing local cereals into couscous. She is the representative of the group and can be seen on the right of the photo with her hand raised.

With her loan, she will pay for 10 bags of millet, 5 bags of corn and 2 cartloads of firewood. She has been in this business for over 20 years and is well known in the neighbourhood.

She will use her profits to increase her savings in the village bank and to meet her own needs.
