Zainab's story
Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 32-year-old Zainab from Torkpoi Branch. She is a married businesswoman with three children between the ages of 6 months and 16 years old. Two are currently attending school. She started this business to take care of her family.
Zainab runs a retail business and sells provisions to her customers around the communities. She has been in this business for the past ten years. Zainab says that her challenge is the increase in the cost of goods and commodities in the country.
She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more provision items such as sweets, biscuits, milk, etc. to increase her business. Zainab says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
