Leilatu Sumani's story

Leilatu Sumani is a 30-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and two children in West Mamprusi district in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan she bought additional soft drinks and rubber. She used the profit she earned to reinvest in her business.

Leilatu Sumani is requesting another loan to buy more quantities of soft drinks to enjoy economies of scale. She plans to use the profit she earns to reinvest in her business. She will repay the 'social interest' on this, her second loan, by volunteering two-and-a-half hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide. She will be supporting other young women who are just entering the CAMFED Association by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
