Lilian is a married woman with two children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past three years, she has operated a dressmaking business, her potential customers are neighbors and passersby. In addition she also operates a vegetable selling business, which contributes as another source of income. Lilian dreams of establishing a dressmaking college in the future.
With the Kshs 25,000 she wants to purchase sacks of potatoes for sale and cloth materials for her dressing making business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
