Mrs. Sen is a 30-year-old farmer residing in the rural area of Siem Reap Province. Since 1998, she has been planting rice crops, which are her annual business. Her husband works in construction. The family generates an income of about $7 each day. Mrs. Sen is looking for a loan to help her husband's business by purchasing some essential construction materials. The couple has two single children who still live under their income.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
