A loan of $2,850 helps a member invest in products to expand her menu and generate more income.

La Merced Group's story
Norma is a member of the “La Merced” group. She currently sells food and clothing. She does this activity from her home and as a street vendor. This business allows her to generate income for her family and support their daily finances. From joining the group, she was able to access the necessary capital to reinvest in her business, expand her merchandise and improve the quality of her products. The financial support allows her to improve her home, contributing to the greater well-being of her family.
Normal dreams of having a complete and stable business that allows her to offer a greater variety of products and establish herself as an entrepreneur in her community. To move towards this goal, with her current loan, she plans to invest in making and selling hamburgers, lomitos, pizzas, empanadas, sandwiches and other options, expanding her culinary offerings and increasing her income.
The group includes enterprising women who work in different fields like selling jewelry, cosmetics, food, vegetables, fruits and clothing. In addition, some have grocery stores, book stores and laundromats. This environment encourages mutual support, experience exchanges and collective growth of every member.
