Titus is a farther of three children who all attend school.
He is a farmer in his hometown in the Nkubu area of Central Kenya. His farm produces milk, tobacco and maize, which all go to the local market and The Mastermind tobacco industries. He operates a motorcycle transport business besides his farming.
Titus has requested a loan of 60,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase a dairy cow. He says this will enable him to pay for the education of his children owing to improved income from the additional cow. He plans to buy more land to expand his farming.
Titus mentions the high cost of animal feed and insufficient rains as the challenges in the farming business.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
