A loan of $1,200 helps to buy cattle to fatten, to strengthen his productive activity.

Antonio

Antonio's story

Antonio, age 74, lives in La Punta, a coastal town in Arequipa where many elderly people continue to work to generate income due to the lack of sufficient pensions and formal job opportunities. In this context, adapting and finding new ways to earn a living is key to maintaining household stability.

During much of his life, Antonio worked in construction. Over time, and due to the physical demands of that trade, he decided to work raising livestock. This work permits him to continue being economically active and to take advantage of his experience from constant work.

Currently Antonio requests a loan to buy cattle to fatten, in order to strengthen his productive activity and generate income to cover his basic needs. This support represents an opportunity to continue working in a dignified and sustainable way in this new stage of his life.

Supporting Antonio is supporting an older adult who, despite the limitations of his age and his environment, continues striving to get ahead and maintain his economic independence.
