Fass Diom Group

Daba, holding the bowl with fabric, is the president of the group, « Fass Diom », a wolof word meaning, "union with courage" in English.  She is a 60 year old retailer.  Seated in front and veiled in yellow, she is married to a salesman and the mother of four children.  She has one five year old dependent child in school. 

Daba is a creditworthy client of VFS.  She has been in this business for seven years.  With this loan, she plans to buy some food products which will allow her to build up her business and to increase her income. 

To stock up, she goes to the weekly markets in her area and then resells it in the neighborhood and surrounding areas.

The income that she earns will allow her to take charge of the family's needs in the following areas: health, food, education and hygiene.  Among the difficulties that she faces, one can cite the strong competition, inflation and the high cost of transportation. 

Daba wishes to open a big store and to develop her sales business to a national level.
