Kairacounda Group's story

This group was created in March 2011.  It is made up of members who live in the same village and have strong social bonds.  Their primary activity is retail sales. 

Mariama, with her hand raised in the photo, is the group representative.  She is 53 years old, married and the mother of five children, one of whom is a girl.  She capitalizes on a wealth of experience in sales, since 2013.  She has good managerial skills.  With the loan, she plans to buy palm oil, vegetable oil and various items for retail sales.  The profits earned will be destined for building up her savings and ensuring the essential needs of the family (food, schooling and health).
