Hiền's story
Ms. Hiền is 38-years old and currently lives with her family in Thường Xuân Commune. She is responsible for two dependents, her eldest child, who is 18 years old and has just graduated from high school, and her second child, who is 16 years old and currently in the 11th grade. In addition to caring for her children, she also looks after her elderly parents-in-law, both of whom are over 70 years old and in poor health. Her husband has been working away from home for more than two years and has neither contacted the family nor sent any financial support, leaving her to carry the full burden of supporting the household.
To sustain her family, she works as a small-scale vendor, a job she has been doing for over five years. Despite her dedication and hard work, her household is still classified as a low-income family in the community. This is her second loan with Thanh Hoá MFI, which she intends to use to expand her small business by increasing her stock of seafood. She plans to purchase a wider variety of fish such as mackerel, golden threadfin bream, tuna, and basa, to attract more customers and improve her daily income. Her previous loan has already brought positive changes to her family’s living conditions, giving her hope for continued progress.
Looking ahead, she wishes for stability and fewer financial pressures, especially since the prices of her products often fluctuate and sell at low margins.
