Maria Elva

Maria Elva's story

María is married and currently lives with her husband and two children, one is 16 years old and the other is already an adult and independent. María’s husband works in agriculture and in butchering. At times, they receives financial help from other children who live abroad. María has been selling tamales for 25 years, a business she learned at home. She sells tamales four times a week and goes out to sell them in the areas surrounding her home starting at 16:00, with the help of her children, as they have a motorcycle.

María is requesting a loan to invest in the purchase of bulk corn for producing chicken tamales. She also wants to include the sale of snacks, because her customers request them often, and she believes this is a good opportunity to increase her earnings and thus provide a better quality of life for her family.

María aspires to improve her living conditions, gain economic stability, and have her own storefront.
