Phượng
A loan of $1,900 helps provide the capital needed to plant acacia trees.

Phượng's story
Mrs. Phượng, 43, lives with her family in a remote mountain village in Thanh Hoa. As an ethnic minority household, their income is unstable: her husband works as a manual laborer while she farms, raises livestock and does housekeeping jobs to support their two children.
For many years, the family has planted acacia trees, a crop that can bring good income after five to six years of growth. However, they lack the funds needed to buy new seedlings and fertilizer for the next planting cycle.
Mrs. Phượng is applying for her fifth loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to invest in a new acacia crop. She hopes that when the trees mature, the timber harvest will provide a stronger, more stable future for her family and help her youngest son continue his education.
