A loan of $1,400 helps to buy another cow to improve milk production and boost her income.

Agnes

Agnes' story

Agnes is 52 years old and married to James, who is a businessman. They have a son who is 21 years of age. She supports her family and also assists some of her relatives whenever she can. She is involved in dairy farming. She supplies milk to the local community and to nearby dairies.

The funds will be used to buy an additional dairy cow and, therefore, help increase milk production and strengthen the business. Her main challenge is low milk production, mainly due to the high cost of quality animal feed and having too few dairy cows. Agnes supplies milk to a dairy and also sells milk to people in her community. She has employed one person who assists her with preparing cattle fodder. Additionally, she buys animal feed and veterinary products from nearby agro-vet shops, helping support local businesses.

She hopes to expand her dairy farm, increase production, and eventually employ more people, earn sustainable profits that will enable her to give her child a quality education and a brighter future. This is an important step toward achieving these goals.
