Brenda Dominga's story

Brenda is a 38 year old entrepreneurial woman, who has been a great employer for her family. She has a partner, and two children who are 6 and 8 years old and are in kindergarten and first grade. Two years ago her husband emigrated to the United States looking for better opportunities for their family. Brenda only finished until sixth grade in school because of financial difficulties.

Ten years ago she opened a beauty salon in her own store. And then five years ago she started raising chickens which she sells from her home. Additionally, a year ago she decided to expand her business and designated a small space in the beauty salon to sell handicrafts and household items, which has attracted more customers and has diversified her business.

She currently has an employee who helps her serve her customers. Despite the progress, Brenda knows that she can grow more. Therefore, she is requesting this loan to buy hydraulic chairs, conditioners, hair dye, bleach, hair masks and treatments. With this support, Brenda will be able to expand her business, serve more customers, and provide a more professional and comprehensive service.

Brenda lives in Sololá and speaks Spanish. She is waiting for Friendship Bridge's technical training in topics such as inventory, good customer service, and entrepreneurship, which will make her business succeed.
