Jesca

Jesca's story

Jesca is 43 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the central region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, with 3 of them currently in school. For the past 5 years, Jesca has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes, like dresses, tops and bottoms. To help expand her business, Jesca has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable clothing for resale, and will help Jesca to generate greater profits so that she can provide for some basic needs and food for her family. Jesca hopes that in the future she will be able to become a powerful business woman and own a big shop in town.

Jesca is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Jesca who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
