Gordon

Gordon's story

Gordon is a 51-year-old married male Ugandan with four children, of which two still go to school. He is from western Uganda and a repeat borrower with EBO SACCO (a Kiva Lending Partner) with a good character, as he pays back his loans well.

His main source of income is banana growing and selling and this is supplemented by growing Irish potatoes. Gordon is facing a challenge of low yields from his banana plantation and Irish potatoes. This is due to insufficient funds to buy manure, fertilizers, and pesticides to improve yields for both of these crops.

Gordon wishes to have increased and improved yields from his farms and he therefore seeks a loan to buy manure and fertilizers to meet his desires of having quality products. This will improve his income, from which he will use the future profits for paying school fees for his children and improve his standard of living.
