Sohoué
Born in Benin on September 10, 1952, Sohoué is a widow who lives alone with one of her children. Sohoué has four children, who all went to school; one still depends on her.
Sohoué only went to primary school. To support herself and her children, Sohoué has been retailing firewood from her home for almost 30 years. In parallel to this business, Sohoué sells ice. Thanks to the revenues generated by her activities, Sohoué is able to properly provide for her family.
Sohoué gets her supplies from Benin's largest market. In the pursuit of customer satisfaction and to improve her standard of living and income, Sohoué is requesting a loan from ALIDé for the first time.

Née le 10 septembre 1952 au Bénin, Sohoué est une veuve qui vit seule avec un de ses enfants. Sohoué a quatre enfants, tous scolarisés dont un reste encore à sa charge. Sohoué n'a fréquenté que l'école primaire. Pour subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants, Sohoué mène comme activité depuis près de trente ans, la vente de bois de chauffage à son domicile. Parallèlement à cette activité, Sohoué vend de la glace. Grâce au revenu que lui génère ses activités, Sohoué assure convenablement les différentes charges de sa famille. Sohoué s’approvisionne dans le plus grand marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour améliorer son niveau de vie et son revenu, Sohoué sollicite pour une première fois un crédit auprès de ALIDé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
