Mariam is 49 years old. She is single and has four children, two of whom are currently in school. Mariam has a business selling food, which she has run for ten years.
To help expand her business, Mariam has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from Kiva partner, BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more food for resale. With the help of her loan from BRAC, Mariam hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children. In the future, she hopes to expand her business further.
