A loan of $2,500 helps a member to buy a variety of clothing in different sizes and designs.

Mujeres De Bendicion Tierra Verde Group's story
Julia lost her father when she was three. Her mother, with limited resources, could not give her a formal education. Despite this, Julia, who is 45, is an example of self-improvement. She is separated from her husband, and the mother to six children, aged from 6 to 25.
She constantly struggles to give her children primary and secondary education. For the past ten years, Julia has been a street seller of casual clothing. During celebrations, she increases her stock with flowers, repairs, and shoes. With her first Kiva loan, she wishes to purchase more clothing in different sizes and designs, to increase sales and take advantage of the end-of-year celebrations. Her future vision is to own her own a local to showcase her merchandise.
Julia is a member of the Friendship Bridge communal bank 'Mujeres de Bendición Tierra Verde'. It comprises of 7 women from Suchitepéquez. All the women speak Spanish and have different businesses such as selling casual clothing, traditional meals, tortillas, chickens by the pound, food supplements, and personal use products. Through the 'Microcrédito Plus' programme, they receive training on good administration and business growth, which allows them to strengthen their businesses and contribute to their family's well being and their communities.
Thanks to Kiva lenders for their support of Julia and the other members of the group.
