The 10 members of the BENKOLA I group are married women with an average age of 41, 4 children, and living mostly in polygamous families in FASSERIBOUGOU, a village in the municipality of LOULOUNI in the sub-prefecture of LOULOUNI, the 3rd largest administrative region of Mali.

They work with Soro Yiriwaso, a microfinance institution, to conduct their farming business during the rainy season. They are on their third loan with the institution. Their past loans have been completely repaid.

The crop : sweet peas by MAIMOUNATA, the first woman on the right totally covered in blue. With her loan, she plans to buy inputs and seeds for maintaining 3 hectares. The output is sold in villages, at the DALLEN village market and at the LOULOUNI market after the harvest, to male and female customers. She plans to earn an average profit of 65,000 FCFA per year. This profit will allow her to repay her loan and also to help her husband with the daily expenses. She wished to maintain this collaboration with Soro Yiriwaso to farm an even larger agricultural area to better earn more income.

Les dix membres du groupe BENKOLA I sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 41ans, 4 enfants et vivant la plupart dans des familles polygames à FASSERIBOUGOU, un des villages de la commune de LOULOUNI dans la sous préfecture de LOULOUNI, 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de mener à bien leurs activités agricoles pendant l’hivernage.
Elles sont à leur troisième prêt avec l’institution, les prêts passés ont été bien remboursés.
La spéculation cultivée est : le pois sucré avec MAIMOUNATA, la première à droite tout de bleu couverte.
Avec son prêt, elle compte acheter des intrants et la semence pour entretenir : 3 hectares. La production est vendue au niveau du village, au marché du village de DALLEN et au marché de LOULOUNI après la récolte à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle compte réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 65.000FCFA par campagne.
Ce bénéfice lui permettra de payer son prêt et aussi d’aider son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes.
Elle souhaite entretenir cette collaboration avec Soro Yiriwaso afin d’ exploiter un espace cultural encore plus grand pour mieux en tirer plus de gains.
