Silveria indicates that she has worked with Pro Mujer for three years, but in another regional center. She joined the institution on the invitation of a promoter. Currently, she has a hardware business which she has been operating for three years. She learned the business from her husband.

The loan she is requesting now is to increase her capital (buying a variety of tools and metal items). She will buy the items wholesale from stores and will sell them at her sales point in Extranca de Rio Seco. This manner of working allows her to generate resources to support her family, since she is a single mother with three children.

When she is asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes everything, the savings and the training.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
