Like many people who live in her area, Mrs. Duch makes a living by growing rice. She and her husband have been in this line of work for many years and now have five children, two of whom are grown and married. Mrs. Duch is applying for a loan to buy a motorbike so that she and her family no longer need to hire motor taxis when they need to go places or run errands.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
