Clemencia is a group member. She is a founder and sells fruit and vegetables, a business she started 15 years ago. Her sales take place at the various movable markets that occur in the outskirts of the municipality. Her business made it possible for her to get ahead and reach her dream of having a stable business that helps her meet family expenses since, together with her husband, she struggles to get ahead. Clemencia is 33 years old and completed secondary school. She’s married and has three children that depend economically on her and her husband. Thanks to her business they’ve provided them with an education.
She wants the loan to continue investing in her business that for the last 15 years has given her the ability to support her family and build a house. She hopes that with help from the loan the business will continue getting stronger. She has faith that she will continue to grow and be able and be able, later on, to have a fixed locale to sell her goods while still continuing to sell in the markets too and thus continue reaching her dreams of helping her children attain careers that will allow them to have better lives when they form their own families.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
