Mwanamisi is a married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity but no piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past three years, she has operated a vegetable stall business, selling from home to her neighbors and passersby. In addition, she operates a food stall business that contributes to her other source of living. She faces the major challenge of competition from other vegetable stall operators in the area.
With the KSHS 20,000 loan, she wants to purchase bundles of vegetables, cooking oil, beans and wheat flour. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
