Marcelina
Marcelina was born in the city of Sicuani (Cusco, Perú). She is 43 years old and lives in Cusco. She is happy because she is successfully raising her only son since she is both mother and father to him. (Cusco is noted for having beautiful scenic spots and for being a center of tourism and commerce). She is a member of Asociación Arariwa’s “María Auxiliadora” communal bank which meets every thirty days in the house of one of the members in Cusco’s San Jerónimo neighborhood.

We met Marcelina at the communal bank’s meeting and she tells us that she has a small store selling tires and a car repair shop. She’s been in this business since 1990 and has done very well thanks to the effort she puts into her work. On this occasion she needs the loan to buy more merchandise like tires, for example.
