A loan of $475 helped to buy ingredients for food selling business.

Shazia's story

Shazia is 40 years old and has given birth to seven children. Five of them are studying while the others stay at home.

Shazia is very supportive. In order to financially help her husband, she sews clothes for her neighboring clients. She is very skillful and receives a good number of orders every month. Besides her sewing work, she also manages her household work efficiently.

Her husband runs a business selling food. He sells "Nan chany" (a Punjabi dish made with chick-peas and served with bread) on his cart by visiting different streets of the city.

Shazia has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for for her husband’s business. With the loan, he will buy ingredients such as chick-peas, cooking oil and spices, etc. which will help him prepare larger quantities of food and earn more profits.

He started doing this business some time ago and it is earning good profits for him. Shazia hopes that her husband’s business will grow further after the loan investment.
