Bernadette is 48 years old. She has four children who are 16 to 22 years old. She is a widow. She has a small supermarket in which she sells foodstuffs, beers, juices and water. She has owned this supermarket for 17 years and it enables her to pay her children’s school fees and meet her family needs. She is requesting a loan to buy items such as juices, fruits etc for her supermarket. With the profits, together with her savings, she plans to build her own family house.
