Svetlana is divorced and is raising her 12-year-old son by herself. She is an entrepreneur from Melitopol, where she sells men’s clothing at a local open market. Svetlana has been in this business for 7 years. With the financial assistance of Nadiya Ukraine, she has been able to add variety to her assorted merchandise and to expand considerably. Svetlana’s current income is about 4,500 UAH a month.
Svetlana has a reasonable pricing policy, which attracts customers to her vending facility. This summer season, she is planning to increase her seasonal inventory and is requesting a loan of 15,000 UAH to purchase men’s summer shirts. As a single mother, Svetlana works hard to sustain her family. She is hoping to generate additional income and invest part of the profit into improving her living conditions.
