Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Las Poderosas De Villa Group's story

This group is called "Poderosas D. VilL." (The Powerful Women of VilL.) and is located in the State of Mexico. The clients decided to give their group this name because they are always optimistic in everything they do and always give their very best. Their main driving force is the power of their love for their families.

This group has 10 members. Celia is the group's president and her business is selling household products. She has a small establishment in town where people can find everything from pots to brooms and washtubs. Celia is married and she helps her husband with their household expenses and the expenses of their 16 and 15 year-old daughters. Celia has provided her children with a good education and she continues to support her two daughters. She says that they want to study and she would like to support them until they achieve their goals. Celia will use this loan to invest in merchandise. She will re-stock her store with many items so that her customers can find everything they need and see that it is a good business.
