Alba
Alba is a 52 year old woman who lives in one of the most cheerful and traditional neighborhoods in the city of Barranquilla. She lives with her spouse and 27 year old son. One day she stopeed travelling, because she lost money in the business and she decided to start a new business. For 13 years, she has sold plastic and metal drums. She wants to grow this activity. and her enthusiasm has generated imprtant income. At present, she is asking for her first loan from the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo because she needs to have these products. She needs the money for inventory and her working capital is very low in relation to her customer growth. With her Kiva loan, she will but more drums wholesale and earn discounts for buying upfront. Her dream is to have a house with a large space to store her merchandise. While she builds her dream, Alba continues to work at her business and with the loan she will be able to increase her working capital.

Alba es una mujer de 52 años que vive en uno de los barrios más alegres y tradicionales de la ciudad de Barranquilla, con su cónyuge y un hijo de 27 años de edad. Ella inició su propio negocio comprando mercancías en el municipio de Maicao, departamento de la Guajira y zona fronteriza de Colombia con Venezuela, y vendiéndola en la ciudad Barranquilla y al devolverse llevaba ropa confeccionada con las tallas solicitadas por su clientela; así construyó su base de compradores en la ciudad y un día dejó de viajar porque perdió dinero en esta negociación y tomó la decisión de cambiar de negocio; desde hace 13 años vende tambores plásticos y metálicos actividad que desea hacer crecer y la entusiasma porque con ella ha generado ingresos importantes. En la actualidad está solicitando su primer financiamiento a la Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, porque necesita tener estos productos en existencia, pues debe esperar recoger el dinero para surtir y su capital de trabajo es muy poco, en relación al crecimiento de su clientela. Con su credikiva comprará tambores en mayor cantidad y ganará descuentos por sus compras de contado. Su sueño es tener una casa con un espacio bien grande para almacenar su mercancía, mientras construye su sueño Alba persiste en trabajar persistentemente en su negocio y en lograr con este financiamiento aumentar su capital de trabajo.
