Mwanamimi is a married woman with seven children, three of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.
For the past 14 years, Mwanamimi has operated a retail shop business, selling household consumption items retail and wholesale to her neighbours and passersby. In addition she also sells coconut, her other source of income. She dreams of expanding her business in the future.
With the Kshs 80,000 she wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil and coconuts for sale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
