Op is 27 years old. She is married but does not yet have any children. She lives in Kompong Cham Province and currently generates her income by raising piglets in a wooden pen. Her husband is the primary income earner supporting her family. He works in a garment factory as a garment worker. Op is applying for a loan to purchase additional feed for her pigs and more piglets for breeding, and to repair her old pen.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
