Born on October 12, 1980 in Bénin, Germaine is married to Wilis, who is a photographer. The couple is raising two children, both enrolled in school, of whom one is their biological child.
Germaine never attended school. She learned hairdressing, a trade she has been practicing enthusiastically for ten years. At the same time, she sells general merchandise (soap, canned goods, etc.), hair extensions, and cosmetics. Thanks to the income from her business, Germaine is able to contribute to supporting her family. She buys her merchandise in a market in Bénin and sells her goods out of her beauty shop. With a view to satisfying her clientele and improving her standard of living, Germaine is requesting her fourth loan from ALIDé.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
