Luz is from the village of Bonbon, Catarman, Camiguin Province. She is 41 years old. Luz is married and has 2 school-aged children. To make a living, Luz owns and operates a business buying and selling ready-to-wear clothing in the local community. Luz has been engaged in her business for over 7 years and earns approximately 7000 PHP a month.
In 2009, Luz joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Luz has successfully repaid a previous loan of 16000 PHP from HSPFI. The previous loan was used to purchase additional inventory and as working capital. Luz is requesting a new loan of 17000 PHP which she will use to purchase additional t-shirts and blouses to sell. This will be Luz's 5th loan from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business.
HSPFI is an accredited partner of Opportunity International in the Philippines. It is based in Cagayan de Oro City and is reaching out to the poor households of Northern Mindanao.
