Sro is a resident in the Komong Chame Province. She is a domestic farmer. She was married, but her husband passed way from an illness many years ago.
Sro grows different kinds of crops on her existing farmland. From this business, she can make a profit of about $2 each day to cover the family’s needs. She will be using her loan to dig a pond, and to buy fish food and small fish for feeding. Sro lives in a wooden house with her five children, two of whom are working in different locations while the other three are single.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
