The photograph shows Mrs. Ly standing inside her house. She makes her daily revenue by working as a local farmer in the village. She is a widow and now lives with her only kid in the province of Kompong Cham. Mrs. Ly owns a medium-size farm where she plants banana and mango trees. Mrs. Ly is looking for a loan to purchase pig food and piglets to breed. She will use the rest of the loan fund to plant corn.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
