La Señora. María es socia del banco comunal Despertar, vive por los alrededores de la ciudad de Cuenca, esta ciudad es la tercera ciudad mas importante del país, sus casas se mezclan entre lo colonial y lo moderno, su gente mantienen su cultura y tradiciones.

La Señora. María tiene 43 años, es madre soltera de 2 hijos de 20 y 18 años de edad, su primer hijo trabaja y le ayuda económicamente, su segundo hijo estudia en un colegio de la ciudad. No tiene casa propia por lo que vive arrendando.

Doña María hace 3 años trabaja como empleada domestica medio día y de lunes a viernes. En su tiempo libre se dedica a la fabricación de carteras, aprendió este oficio gracias a una amiga que le enseño, su producto lo vende a sus amigas y conocidas.

Este es su primer crédito que realiza en el banco comunal al cual fue invitada por una amiga que es socia activa. El dinero de su crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de materia prima para la elaboración de sus carteras.

Su sueño es tener casa propia.
