Fatuma is a married woman with four children, three of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past 8 years, Fatuma has operated a food vending business, selling by retail to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She dreams of expanding her business in the future.
With the KES 20,000 she wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, maize flour and sugar. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
