KOTOGNOGOTALA is a group composed of seven women, all of whom are married. They average 35 years of age and 4 children. Most of them live in polygamous families in BOUGOULA HAMEAU, one of the villages of Sikasso, 3rd administrative region of Mali.
This is their 8th collaboration with Soro Yiriwaso, a microfinance insitution. All their previous loans have been repaid in good conditions. This group of women is in the rice business through BINTOU, who, with this loan, intends on buying one ton of rice from the farmers in her village as well as surrounding villages. The rice is then sold retail and for cash, both at the market and door to door, to a clientele of men and women.
She expects to make a monthly profit of 75.000FCFA, which will be used for her family's daily expenses.

Le groupe KOTOGNOGOTALA, composé de sept femmes toutes mariées, ont une moyenne d’âge de 35 ans, 4 enfants et vivent majoritairement dans des familles polygames à BOUGOULA HAMEAU un des villages de Sikasso 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles sont à leur huitième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso et tous les prêts passés ont été remboursés dans de bonne condition. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de riz à travers BINTOU, qui compte acheter avec son prêt, une tonne de riz, auprès des paysans producteurs du village et des villages voisins. Le riz est revendu au marché de Sikasso et en famille à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes, en détail et au comptant.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 75.000FCFA qu’elle utilisera pour les dépenses quotidiennes de la famille.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
