This solidarity group was created on May 30, 2007. It consists of 14 women who live in the same neighborhood. Their main business is retail.
The lady standing on the far right in the photo wrapped in a scarf is the head of the group. She is married and a mother of five.
She runs a cafeteria at a bus station where she sells cosmetic products (body lotion, hair pomade, perfumes, etc.). She has been doing this for a year.
Her new loan will allow her to stock up her cafeteria with more beauty products.
Her goal is to increase the merchandise in her cafeteria, to increase her savings, and to help pay for her family’s needs.

Ce groupe de solidarité est créé le 31 mai 2007. Il est composé de 14 femmes qui sont issues du même quartier. L'activité principale des membres est le petit commerce.

La dame, debout à l'extrême droite de la photo, emmitouflée d'une écharpe est responsable du groupe. Elle mariée et mère de 05 enfants.

Elle est détentrice d'une cantine à la gare routière où elle vend des produits cosmétiques (lait de corps, pommade pour cheveux, parfums etc.) Elle pratique cette activité depuis un an.

Son nouveau crédit lui permettra de mieux approvisionner sa cantine en produits cosmétiques.

Son objectif est de renforcer sa cantine en marchandises, augmenter son niveau d'épargne, et de participer à la prise en charge des besoins familiaux

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
