Nargiz is a 36-year-old farmer from the village of Kotelia, Akhalkalaki District. Nargiz is married and lives with her husband and three children: a 16-year-old son and 13- and 7-year-old daughters. Both of her daughters have health problems and receive pensions for persons with disabilities from the government.
Nargiz and his husband Zurab have four milk cows. They sell milk to the milk collection center in the same village. Also they have 4.5 ha of land. 0.6 ha is used for growing potatoes and 1.0 ha is used for growing wheat. Part of the harvested vegetables is sold locally and the bigger part is sold in Tbilisi, the capital city of the country.
Approximately 50% of the requested loan will be used to purchase fertilizers. With the remaining 50%, she will purchase diesel for the tractor to till the land.
According to Nargiz and Zurab’s estimations, after fertilization they will have a better crop, which will be sold for a good price. The received income will be used for treatment for their daughters.
