Zaza is a 43-year-old farmer from Vani District, West Georgia. He is married and lives with his wife Elena, 12-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter.
Zaza is retailer of vegetables. He has his own minibus, which is used in his business. He purchases potatoes and onions from wholesalers in Vani once a week and sells them in the local market. This business gives to the family approximately 500 Laris per month. Along with the abovementioned, Zaza’s family has four milk cows and two calves. They produce cheese and sell on average 60 kg of cheese per month at the local market.
With the requested loan, Zaza will purchase 1.2 tons of potatoes in South Georgia and sell it in his village. Due to the lower price and transportation costs, his cost per kilo of potatoes will be reduced by 0.50 Laris. It will increase his profit.
Zaza and Elena plan to reinvest part of the profit in the same business, and the rest will be used in the family.
