In the city of Urubamba of the department of Cusco, there is a place known as Chichubamba and it is known for its beautiful sceneries, the gastronomy, and for the warmth of the people.

Maricruz is 23 years old. She has a partner and their son is the fruit of their relationship. She lives with her husband in a house which they own and it is equipped with water and electricity. It is located in the province of Urubamba and in the department of Cusco. This region's primary business activities are agriculture, farming, and tourism.

Maricruz raises and sells foul, including poultry. The corral where the animals live is located in the rear section of her property. She feeds them a balanced diet. She sells her livestock when they have reached an optimal size and weight at the different markets in the city of Urubamba. This increases her income and she is able to acquire what she needs for the home. She tells us that she had 500 chickens but a bacteria sickened 100 of them and it caused them to die. But despite the adversities Maricruz will continue moving forward with the business.

The loan that Maricruz requests is in the amount of 500 nuevos soles from Asociacion Arariwa (Kiva Field Partner) and it will be used to purchase more foul and their feed. Her goal is to fatten the livestock to be able to sell them at a good price, to pray for her loan and to help her improve their quality of life.

Maricruz is a hardworking and attentive woman who has always known to keep moving forward to improve in life and to achieve what she wants.
